MitoMiner has had a significant upgrade and now includes data from the Human Protein Atlas and InterPro (full details below). This version also includes numerous bug fixes and enhancements to the user interface. Users with accounts in MitoMiner 2.1 should find their data is copied over to the new version. If you have any questions, problems, bug reports or general feedback about the new release please contact us as MitoMiner [at] mrc-mbu.cam.ac.uk .
Enhancements included for Version 3.0:
Expression data for different tissues, cell lines and cancers included
Subcellular location for all cellular compartments
Protein domain information from InterPro - can be found in the Protein Domain table in the query builder.
Integrated Mitochondrial Protein Index (IMPI) - Reference set
MitoMiner now includes a new mitochondrial reference set of proteins - IMPI. See this news entry for further details.
KEGG
KEGG Reaction now include the name of the enzyme and the equation in KEGG compounds
Estimated delta G values with uncertainty levels have been included from Jankowski et al. (PubMed:18645197) calculated using the group combination method.
New dataset
A new dataset that biotin tags mitochondrial matrix proteins has been included:
Proteomic Mapping of Mitochondria in Living Cells via Spatially-Restricted Enzymatic Tagging. Hyun-Woo Rhee, Peng Zou, Namrata D. Udeshi, Jeffrey D. Martell, Vamsi K. Mootha, Steven A. Carr, Alice Y. Ting. Science 15 March 2013: Vol. 339 no. 6125 pp. 1328-1331. (PubMed: 23371551)
UniProt & Gene Ontology
Updated to version 2013_03
OMIM
Updated to 17/04/13
HomoloGene
Updated to release 67.
Mitochondrial Localisation Table
A new summary table has been created that provides a shortcut to search for specific mitochondrial locations (e.g. mitochondrial matrix) . It is based upon both Gene Ontology annotation as well as location specific experimental mass-spec data (such as from the new dataset above).
Other improvements
Mitochondrial Evidence UniProt Keyword - has been retired due to its total overlap with the Gene Ontology annotation.
Search results have been streamlined.
